Campground Book & Walmarts!

While buying ice & browsing at the Inks Lake camp store, I came across a book I thought was hysterically funny. I don't remember the title but each campsite in Texas (not just SP's either) had maps PLUS the location of the nearest WALMART marked on the maps & how many miles to it!!! Is this a collusion between the campgrounds and Walmart?

The book was kinda pricey (to me --$18) but now that I think about it, it might be useful. Does anyone know the book I'm talking about?

Re: Campground Book & Walmarts!

Texas Campground Guide and Cookbook by Roger Arnhart and Annette Zayac.

Bought mine at half price books for 4.98. The walmart maps are handy when you need stuff while on the road and aren't familiar with the area.

Something I find helpful is the pictures. You can see what kind of privacy ( if any) you might have at the campsites.

RVers dry camp in Wal-Marts what allow it. Its safe and Wal-Mart knows we will buy something. When have I ever not spent money at Wal-Mart?

Sometimes we stop and eat lunch in our RV in Wal-Mart. Of, if you need to make a repair or just take a break.

Once we were in the mountains in some fog and can I tell you that Wal-Mart looked like heaven. We parked and waited the storm.

I do not advocate camping in Wal-Mart, but for RVers, its like a truckstop for truckers. Which, by the way is another good place for RVers to stop.

Yea, since when have you been to a Wal-mart and didn't see an RV parked in the lot somewhere?
