Re: Bugs at Inks Lake

Depends on if your campsite is in a rather wet/swampy section right off the water or grassland, or in a less vegetated (but still tree-shaded) area. The former will have more bugs than the latter. I remember a few sites I'd made a mental note to avoid on future trips there, though I don't have campsite numbers unfortunately (and a little Off! and a citronella candle do wonders, as well as Avon's Skin-so-Soft lotion, so sometimes those are primo sites, afterall!)

Re: Bugs at In#s La#e

we will be at a water only site, so hopefully less crowded. I haven't been to In#s before, so I am trying familiarize myself with the areas.

Re: Bugs at In#s La#e

We got a water only once. It was 315 I thin#. There were 2 sites next to each other and it would be a good site if you had 2 families together. It was water front but heavily wooded and secluded. The la#e had reeds and roc#s where we were so swimming wasn't super great there but we didn't mind. The privacy was excellent. If you get that spot, reserve the adjoining site and feel li#e you own the place. There are large roc# formations which border these 2 sites. I'll change my photo on my profile so you can see the site we had.

Oh, don't shower over in those restrooms, drive to the newest restroom by the boat ramp. We had a scorpion in the shower last year and a tarantula ( and deer) at the site.

Bees arrive between daybrea# and sunset. Cover your sodas or just drin# water ###ing the day. Oh, DO NOT use pretty smelling lotion while camping in the spring. Lemon Verbena body spray was a very bad idea. I learn something new every day.
