blanco open air camping

I'm going to be passing through the Blanco area later this month after flying into San Antonio in the evening. Looking to just throw a sleeping bag on the ground and sleep under the stars. Looking for a nice quiet area for the night. Does Blanco SP fit the bill? Or is the highway too close? Any other ideas?

Re: blanco open air camping

Go to Enchanted Rock. Even though you're not supposed to, people have been known to sleep at the top. This wouldn't be recommended on a full moon night, though, as it would be pretty bright up there. You can even hike around to the other side to the primitive camp sites if the park is full.
