Question Anyone camping this weekend? (Oct 12th-14th)

As hard as it was to get reservations, there's got to be at least some of you out there going! LOL!
I'd been trying everywhere around Austin for a couple weeks but finally decided that it was time to try a new park anyway so.. we're headed out to Garner tomorrow! YEA!! It's been a long, stressful year at work and I am soooo looking forward to get away from the hassle to recharge.

Anyone else have plans this weekend?

NO...can't find a camp spot near Houston.
looked at our 3 favorite sites and all booked up.
We might take a chance at Brazo's bend and try to get a cancellation spot.

Thanks Srds, sure am gonna try!

Good luck Brackwl! I actually tried Brazos up until Monday but, no luck. I was hoping to try it at least once and figured fall might be the best time (maybe less bugs...) but perhaps others had the same idea. LOL.

Re: Anyone camping this weekend? (Oct 12th-14th)

October and parts of November are typical camping months for Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts,

Cub Scouts especially in Texas use the State Parks often
(Cubs are the boys from first through fifth so parents go along, its family camping but fun)

Parents tend to use State parks to avoid those primitive bathrooms found in many Scout camps, and you can't take your RV to a scout camp

I'm going to wash & wax my rig ...and install my new electric tongue jack (time permitting).

And since I'm not camping, I'll be working some OT this weekend too.

Maybe next weekend.
