Toyota Texas Bass Classic (2nd Annual)

Where? Quitman, Texas - Lake Fork


The world's top tournament bass anglers vie for big prizes at this event. Live music, games, activities, family fun zone, food, fishing industry expo with the latest instructional seminars, gear, accessories and equipment will add to the fun. Hosted by Toyota and the Professional Anglers Association. Proceeds benefit the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. April Trail Ride

Where? Presidio, Texas - Big Bend Ranch State Park


Spend two days on horseback and campout under the stars. Hoodoos Full Moon Hike

Where? Terlingua, Texas - Barton Warnock Environmental Education Center


Join Park Rangers on a one-hour one mile hike along the Rio Grande. We will talk about nocturnal wildlife of the Chihuahuan Desert and maybe a few ghost stories as we walk through the hoodoo formations. Meet at either Barton Warnock Environmental Education Center, in Lajitas, or at Fort Leaton State Historic Site, in Presidio, for a 30-minute drive to the Hoodoos (transportation not provided). The moonlight will be bright, but bring a flashlight and wear a study shoes or hiking boots. 7:45-10:30 p.m. (432) 424-3327.

Spring Festival

Every Saturday. Looking for something fun and exciting to do with your young ones? Join us as we explore the wonderful world of wildlife. From scales to feathers, amphibians to zebras (zebra long wing butterflies that is) kids ages 5-14 will have a chance to get up close and personal with some of the amazing wildlife that lives at the park. Wildflowers of the Texas Hill Country

Where? Spring Branch, Texas - Guadalupe River State Park


Join Park Interpreter Craig Hensley for this half-day workshop on the identification and natural history of the wildflowers that grow so profusely in the Texas Hill Country. Attendees will learn identification tips and tricks as well as where to find them and which ones are good for use in home naturescapes. This special workshop will include both an indoor section and a walk along the trails of Honey Creek SNA in search of flowering plants.
