A walk along a dry arroyo in well-developed desert scrub will reveal Say's phoebe, verdin, curve-billed and Crissal thrashers along with a host of other birds. Take the opportunity to explore Chihuahuan Desert bird habitants including grasslands, desert scrub, canyons and riparian woodlands and thickets. Join Park Interpreter Craig Hensley for this half-day workshop on the identification and natural history of the wildflowers that grow so profusely in the Texas Hill Country. Attendees will learn identification tips and tricks as well as where to find them and which ones are good for use in home naturescapes. This special workshop will include both an indoor section and a walk along the trails of Honey Creek SNA in search of flowering plants. Take an engaging, interactive look at stars, galaxies, star clusters and more as we tour the night sky. Audience will participate in a fun-filled skit telling the famous story of Cassiopeia and Andromeda.
