Spring Break Trail Ride (5th Annual)

Join the
Texas Equestrian Trail Riders Association
and
Hill Country State Natural Area Partners
and help support the natural area. Arrive and get settled in on Friday afternoon, then enjoy Cowboy Chili (while it lasts!) on Friday night. Begin Saturday morning with registration and Coggins check followed by a free breakfast for registered riders. Ride outs at 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., lunch is on your own. The evening brings a Pot Luck barbecue dinner and silent auction. Sunday morning registration and Coggins check for new arrivals, free breakfast for registered riders and morning ride out. Check out at 2 p.m. Fees $20 single day, $35 weekend, TETRA members $30, children 12-18 $10 single day, $20 weekend. For more information, visit

Where? Weslaco, Texas - Estero Llano Grande State Park
Every Saturday. Looking for something fun and exciting to do with your young ones? Join us as we explore the wonderful world of wildlife. From scales to feathers, amphibians to zebras (zebra long wing butterflies that is) kids ages 5-14 will have a chance to get up close and personal with some of the amazing wildlife that lives at the park. Topics vary each week. 11 a.m.-noon; fees $1 Texas State Parks Pass members, $4 non-members, $3 senior citizens and $1 children 12 and under (956) 565-3919.

Where? Johnson City, Texas - Lyndon B. Johnson State Park & Historic Site
This year's events are dedicated to Lyndon B. Johnson helping to "Celebrating the Life of a Man & the Land that He Loved" in the 100th year of his birth. Bring the family and spend the day making and flying kites. Learn the basics of kite construction and flying a homemade kite. We will supply recycled materials and help kids make their own kites. You are also encouraged to bring your own kites to enjoy flying in the park. Accessible for the mobility impaired. 1:30-3:30 p.m. (830) 644-2252.
