    Reptiles on my branches

About 2 weeks ago, I found a lizard impaled on one of the branches of my front tree, in Katy TX.
Today, I found a snake about 6 inches long on another branch. This is a new subdivision, so the trees are all about 5 years old. I've been looking around the net to figure out what kind of bird may be doing this without any luck. I figured this would be a good place to ask.
Any ideas?? I hate not knowing.

Sounds like you have been visited by the Butcher Bird AKA Loggerhead Shrike.

I am far from a bird expert. Maybe someone else has a better suggestion.

I believe you are right!! Yesterday I caught a glimpse of a bird that vaguely resembles a mockingbird, but with sharper contrast of colors. This bird fits the bill... I am just happy that its not some kid with bad ideas.

    Thanks Motorman!!
