Exclamation Need Help ID'ing a couple critters

As you can see from our Big Bend National Park slideshow, we observed a variety of wildlife and scenic sites during our week-long camping trip in the park.

There are a couple critters we observed that I have not yet been able to positively identify by their proper names. Perhaps you can help?

Candidate #1:
* Unidentified lizard
(Some folks have volunteered that his name is "Leapin'" or "Lounge". )

Candidate #2:
* Unidentified, finch-like bird

Any ideas?

For help with the lizard you might want to ask these guys:

Not sure who would know about the bird though.

Thanks for the link, I'm sure I'll be consulting with them from time to time to figure out what's crossed our paths on the trails! As for the bird, I'll email the local Audubon Society chapter and see if they can't assist.

Thanks again!

Lightbulb about the bird

it look like pretty much an Passerina versicolor
common name: Varied Bunting, female
Observe the scaled breast, dark rump (sadely no way to see the tail)
Their range include the big bend region at spring and summer
