Birding the Valley

Just returned from my first trip to the Lower Rio Grande Valley. Saw a lot of beautiful birds. Green jay, green kingfisher, ringed kingfisher, altamira oriole, buff bellied hummingbird, great kiskadee and chachalaca were some of the birds we saw.

I highly recommend the Audobon Sabal Palm Sanctuary. They have a busy feeding station and a photo blind on a resaca. In addition to the birds, there were many flowers and butterflies.
