Suggestion needed for day-hike

Heya Folks,

I've got time for one last day-hike before I have to get back to the nursing school + working full time grindstone for another semester and I'm looking for some suggestions/info.

Here's the ideas I have thus far -
1) Bastrop & Buescher SP - If I'm at Buesher when the open the gates (8a?), would I be pushing it to cover the major trails at both parks in a day? I debated taking the bike and cycing the distance between the two parks but TPWD's warning of "experienced cyclists only" has made me rethink that.

2) Huntsville SP - enough trails there to make a day of it? Or maybe a Huntsville/Livingston combo? Maybe Washington-on-the-Brazos + Huntsville SP combo?

3) Fort Parker (the actual fort in Groesbeck, not the SP), then on to Mother Neff SP (open to other suggestions in the general area of Fort Parker).

Any other suggestions within 150 miles or so of Houston are welcome.

Re: Suggestion needed for day-hike

I recommend Huntsville SP. One of my favorite places to go for a senic EastTex woods hike. And if you that isn't enough, you could jump on part of the LSHT that is just north of the park entrance off I-45. Huntsville SP has one of the most spectacular stands of American Hollies I have ever seen, and a wonderful collection of dogwood too. There are quite a few palmettos in some spots and lots of the wild bamboo as well. I have always really enjoyed this hike.
