Seeking Hiking partners.

Greetings All, I am currently seeking anyone that may be interested in doing some hiking. I am open to all suggestions, I can travel and have a very flexible schedule. I am also H.I.V. + and am heterosexual and very happily married. I normally hike solo but I would like to go on some treks with others. I dont abuse drugs and am in reasonably good shape. My wife is in school getting her teaching certification and can't get out that much. I am 42 and am an artist and jeweler. I live in the hill country and know my way around all the state parks and natural areas around here. Anyone want to go hiking? LET ME KNOW. THANX , SKOT

Re: Seeking Hiking partners.

I think you need to send an email to the group owner. I am the moderator for the group but I don't think I can grant permission to join - it is a private group so you have to join to particate. The link is http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SimpleHikersInTexas/

You can send a message to SimpleHikersInTexas-subscribe@yahoogroups.com to join the group. I believe Paul, the group owner, will be the contact person.

They are planning an outing at the end of September to Lake Somerville (I think - still in the planning stages) - should be a good time to meet quite a few people - many are interested in the outing. I will be hiking in New Mexico so I won't be able to attend this trip. But we usually try to do a weekend trip once a month and members get together to discuss bigger trips. A couple of guys just got back from a 200mile Yellowstone to Grand Tetons trip not too long ago. A few other just got back from a short trip to White Mountain Wilderness in New Mexico. It is a good group and lots of good resources!

Re: Seeking Hiking partners.

Here's Ingram, Texas, via Google Maps.

It's west of Kerrville's former Kerrville-Schreiner State Park (now operated by the City of Kerrville).
