Reserve a campsite at Guadalupe SP. If you don't spend the night, who cares. They won't lock you in and you might see some wildlife.
With the full moon next week, any ideas on where to go in the San Antonio area for moonlight hikes? We tried O.P. Schnabel (a city park) and it was OK but looking for somewhere different. It seems most parks close at dusk. Some people have told me they go hiking anyway (after closing time) but I am taking a big group and some people get nervous about "breaking the rules"plus the very real possibility of getting your cars locked in. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Charcoal is a spice, dirt is a condiment, and there is no 3 second rule.
Technically, most Texas State Parks close to day use visitors at 10 PM, not dusk, so you'd be free to hang around for a moonlit stroll 'til 10 PM. Parks with gates will lock their gates at that time (or are supposed to, anyway.)
As for locales, if you're in or near San Antonio then I definitely second Guadalupe River SP... I don't know how the river's doing but if it's not at/above flood stage the river access is still open and nothing beats moonlight reflecting on water.
That or Enchanted Rock SNA because it looks awesome in moonlight. If anyone in your group is careful and daring enough you could hike up/down the main dome of Enchanted Rock in the moonlight... it also makes a great sunset viewing location. Justin and I had the good fortune of witnessing one of the last lunar eclipses from our campsite at ERock, and we hadn't even realized the eclipse was occurring that weekend until we noticing the rapidly changing moonscape above us!
