Hill Country Hiking

Need some help from the hikers out there . . .

My wife and I will be in the Hill Country (Fredericksburg) for a short visit next week and want to spend at least 1 day hiking. We've hiked several of the trails there (South Llano, Lost Maples, Hill Country, Pedernales, Enchanted Rock, etc.) but not when there has been so much rain. We had wanted to hike Lost Maples again (West Trail and West Loop Trail and, if our old 50+ legs hold out, the East Trail). Many of those trails are through creeks, over slippery rocks, etc. Anyone know what it's like down there now? Forecast shows good chance of rain throughout this next week.

Has anyone hiked Kerrville-Schreiner? I've not been there at all. I also read a report last week from someone who reported that only a small portion of the Hill Country SNA trails were open due to rain.

Any insight is appreciated. Thanks for your help.

Re: Hill Country Hiking

Here's a link to a review on Kerrville-Schreiner. Doesn't include any info on hiking except that there is 6+ miles. Didn't get to hike any of the trails due to weather and other reasons. Hope this helps.
