hiking/backpacking partners from Austin

I'm a 23 y/o guy looking for hiking/backpacking partners from Austin.

I'm a professional engineer and like to hike in my free time.

I'm looking to use this as an opportunity to meet new people with simiilar interests; it takes a lot of coaxing to get many of my friends to come along for some things on these lines.

I'm open for ideas on places to go...

There is a small group of folks with a few out of Austin. They are in yahoo groups under...Simple Hikers In Texas. Take the first letters and you'll get an idea they have a sense of humor!!
If they don't chime in I will try and find their info

My brother is one of those....Plan a trip and he bails at the last minute.....Just one reason why I solo most of the time

My wife has taken up hiking so now if she can't go she moans which means fewer trips for me

Re: hiking/backpacking partners from Austin

Hi...im in Bryan/College Station and generally hike/backpack solo because of the problem of finding partners. Im interested in doing some longer 2-3 day backpack trips so am hunting up some people interested in forming a group. Ive done several one night trips at Bastrop and Somerville....looking to do some longer trips on the Lone StarTrail in prep for possibly doing a few weeks on the AT. Feel free to contact me anytime.
