dogs in big bend

I have two small dogs and was wanting to take them with me to Big Bend. Are dogs allowed in certain parts of the park? I read that they were not allowed in the backcountry. If they are not allowed at all, is it difficult to smuggle them in and are the rangers pretty strict on the rules?

Thanks.
