Question Backpacking - Ruidoso, N.M.

Hi Folks,
I was on Google looking for Backpacking trails around Ruidoso and stumbled onto this sight . Seems to be just what I need . After 17 years in Ga. , I'm back in Texas . Originally from El Paso .
I'm looking for a 1 - night out , 2 - day trail near Ruidoso . A loop with water would be best. My 14 year old daughter and I did Big Bend OML in Feb. and she swears she'll never carry water again .
Good to be back . Anyone looking for partners out there , let me know .
Thanks, Rowdy

Thumbs up Re: Backpacking - Ruidoso, N.M.

South Fork Rio Bonito! In the White Mountain Wilderness, Lincoln NF. I quit going to Big Bend for a long time after discovering this place. It has real mountains with real forest, running water and campfire rings. Call the ranger station in Ruidoso for a map.
