I would camp in old garner, this time of the year. In the summer, we like new garner. It's further away from the crowds. If you don't like what you have reserved, the park staff will work with you to find a spot that you like. Old garner will put you closer to all the things to do-- hiking, dancing, swimming or just plain relaxing. It doesn't get much better!!
