In case anyone cares

We went to Brazos Bend State Park on Sunday, after the rains came rumbling through. We always try to get to the park after the big rains because one time we went on a Monday holiday and there were probably 75 armadillos running around digging in the ground. Our Yorkies went crazy watching them and acting like they would run them down if they got the chance. Yeah, right! We did not see any armadillo action and did not see a gator either. We love the solitude of the park because is seems to go almost unnoticed by the masses. It does get busier on the weekends but still most campsites are available. We went bike riding with little to no road traffic to bother us or vice versa. We wished we could sneak in a camping trip but the rodeo is almost upon us so it will have to wait until late March or early April. We have several campsites with our names on it. This is (again) a perfect park for the beginner camper and the families with small children. Lots of shade, good trails, small amount of traffic. I wish we had been aware of this park when our kids were kids.
