Re: Inks Lake SP

Top choice and one the parks we go to often. Wonderful clear-water lake and good camping. Park does get very busy on weekends but during the week, you have to "shoo" the deer out of your site at times.

Best route to take would be 67 out of Dallas, taking the by-pass around Cleburne. Continue on 67 through Glen Rose and then about another 8 miles until you come to 220. 220 south about 10 miles to Hico where you pickup 281, then south to Burnett where you intersect 29. Take 29 west about 8 miles and the Park Road (4) will be on your left. You can take I-35 south to 29 and then west but I've found that route to be long and very boring.

I have a review that I did of the area a few years ago. Would be glad to post a link here if your interested. I'd also be pleased to answer any questions I can. Hope you have a great trip and,

Happy Camping!
