Re: First Ride on New Road Bike & Clipless Pedals
Shannon,
I know how you feel getting on a bike after a very long time. My son got a bike a year and a half ago but hasn't really tried riding it since we have a steep driveway and street. After taking the trainers off, he's begun balancing himself and pedaling occasionally. Seeing him so close to being an independent rider made me want a bike to.
My Dad, not having a clue what to get me for Christmas, sent a Walmart gift card. Of course I opened the card early and spent it on a Schwinn Skyliner Hybrid. It's gold and white and rides comfortably. I was embarrassed trying to ride it in Walmart. The last time I rode (something other than my horse which was 7 years ago) was 1984, when I got my drivers license (23 years ago!).
I don't think my truck will get jealous since I don't have a rack to haul the bikes, we can't go very far yet. It will be nice to have them for camping trips for transportation instead of driving.
Have fun and don't break anything.
