Welcome and hope you like it here. The Athens area should be good..it is centeral area...maybe 2hrs to some other great areas. You'll just have to watch and not go North to Canton on the first Monday of every month. It has one of the Biggest flea markets in Texas and traffic get's really backed up. I've heard from other campers that Tyler St. park is one of the nicest and there is the railroad (
http://www.texasstaterr.com/ ) in Rusk that always has something going on. There is a Fiddlers / bluegrass festivel just north of Tyler two times a year and herd it is slap your leg...Fun.....Enjoy.
