Meridian SP has a nice little lake for fishing, not as big as Tyler, and the camping is not on the lakefront. Closer to home Purtis Creek would be good. A larger lake with views would be Whitney or Fairfield. The state park at Whitney is closed due to flooding earlier this year but the corp parks are still open. Whitney can be fairly clear or very muddy depending on rainfall/runoff upstream. Fort Parker SP, (near Mexia) would be a nice little spot for fishing. It has the main body of the lake/river and also a smaller pond. I have no knowledge of the other places you mentioned
