As for Brazos Bend. It was a lovely park which we saw last spring during spring break. The nature center was conducting activities for the kids twice daily that week. We enjoyed our visit but feel we've been there and done all they have there.

We day trippped Carlsbad from Balmorhea SP this summer. VERY neat place. Also stopped at Guadalupe Mountains NP. White Sands was close but just not enough time to see.
