Re: Seminole Canyon State Park, Comstock TX
The exhibits in the visitors center are REALLY nice. Better than the museum exhibits here in San Antonio. Even if you are just driving thru and can't stay for a tour, take a few minutes to see the VC. While we were waiting for the tour, a group of bikers from Houston had stopped on their way out to Davis Mtns.
As for the positive attitude, I figured there was no one to complain to, or yell at but me, so why waste the energy being mad. As we drove out of the park I told my son,
we got to go on the tour and take tons of pictures,
you got to spend time with the ranger throwing sticks,
we got to do the junior ranger program to get another badge,
we found enough sotol stalks along the road for all his scout buddies to make a walking stick,
we didn't run out of gas coming down here,
you didn't pee your sleeping bag,
we get to stay in a motel with ac and a pool,
and we bought tons of goodies at the gift store.
Yea mom, this is a great trip.
Less than a mile out of the park a huge rainbow formed out of the storm we were heading into. It stretched over the road and we drove right through it. I told my son, "I think God is giving us the rainbow for being a good sport." He responded with a long discussion about Ireland being on the other end of the rainbow and asked are we close enough to Ireland to go visit today.
