Hello. My name is David. I just registered as a new member today (July 13). I grew up in south Louisiana. My father, brother, and I were very serious Texas deer hunters when I was growing up. We also Bass fished whenever and wherever we could. I moved to Texas Hill Country about 3 years ago, but unfortunately, I have no place to go hunting now. I still try to fish when I can, but do that when I go back to Louisiana to visit my family.

I must say that this website is very fascinating and interesting! I recently started getting interested in camping. My two young daughters and one son have been asking for a couple years to go camping, so I started doing the research this summer. When my wife found out I was doing this research, she surprised me and bought quite a bit of camping gear for me! So, I'm excited and anxious to get started! However, I'm not the type that will just start doing something without researching it. Even though I'm planning to make my first camping experience as a tent camping outing at Hill Country State Natural Area, I still am looking forward to any information that anyone can give to rookie campers, by car or tent. I'm hoping to start backpack in a few years.

Well, I hope I've said enough in this introduction. I look forward to meeting new friends and teachers on this forum!
