Re: Heading to Dallas

In Fort Worth the Museum of Science and History has really cool - and interactive - Star Wars Exhibit that just opened this month. My husband and I went a week ago and will probably be taking our grandson back with us next time. There is also the Omni Theater (Imax) in the museum and the other standard exhibits. These days any admission tickets include the Cowgirl Hall of Fame Museum which is located right across the street. Visit the site for more info www.fwmuseum.org

There is also the Tarantula Train Ride. Making frequent runs between the city of Grapevine and the Fort Worth Stockyards, the Tarantula Train gives people the chance to ride the rails just like the old days. The train's pulling turn-of-the-century Victorian coaches and open-air patio cars are pulled along over 21 miles of track by "Puffy," a restored 1896 steam locomotive. Both one way and round trips are available on the Tarantula Train and snacks and drinks are available on board so that you can enjoy the ride even more. For more info www.gvrr.com

The Fort Worth Zoo has been rated one of the top 10 in the nation. For more info www.fortworthzoo.com

I try to stay WEST of the Trinity River and not venture into Dallas unless I have to. However, if decide to be brave and head that way then I suggest The Dallas World Aquarium. It is the most impressive indoor Rainforest exhibit I have ever seen and the aquariums from the 7 oceans are really neat. For more info www.dwazoo.com

Have fun!
