If you've read the info I posted on your thread about GRSP, you know that I am not greatly impressed with fishing at GRSP. Haven't had much luck there but to be honest, I've never pushed the issue very hard.

As far as what to use, it will depend greatly on what your after. While fishing Texas rivers and streams, I have always had my best luck using lite and ultra-lite tackle. I rig my lite action rods with 6lb line and my ultra-lites are rigged with 4 or even 3lb line. If your not familier with handling these types of rigs, I would suggest a lite to medium-lite action rod and reel loaded with either 6 or 8lb line. Anything lighter will probably give you more trouble then your likely to enjoy.

As far as lures go, there are just too many variables for me to be specific. When appropriate, I like to use soft lures on a light leadhead. Over the years, one of my most productive lures has been one called "Little Fishhie" (I believe that's correct but it is at least close to correct name). It is a soft lure made to imitate the action of a swimming minnow. It drives bass nuts and I have found that it often will cause a strike when they aren't activly feeding. A very good lure that costs little and produces a lot.

Two big points on lures:
1) Make sure the weight of the lure matches the weight of your rig. On the side of the rod near the handle, there should be printed the range of lure weights the rod is intended to handle. Stay within that range and you should have little difficulty casting.
2) "Locals" usually know what the fish are hitting on and will often tell you.
