I too read something about this place only a few weeks ago. I've heard rumors that the park service doesn't have the funds now to open it up for use. I also heard somewhere that a resort was placed in the area.

Big Bend Ranch SP is supposed to start blazing a trail or two in it's northern section in the near future so maybe TP&W will start to work on it then.
