Not sure about anything closer but I know you can rent 'yaks and tubes in Gruene (pronounced "Green"), Texas. Have a site:

Nice town to visit.

There may be some rental shops in Boerne (pronounced "Bur-nee" with the accent on the "Bur"), Texas. Have another site:
