Enchanted Rock

With a rare, well deserved break in the winter weather, we took off to Fredericksberg to hike the rock. Visitation was fairly low and we seldom saw folks, except at the summit. The initial hike up was a bit strenuous for us by luckily God put some nice rocks where we needed them to sit down. We explored the summit a while and took a differnt way down. We found a run-off stream and followed it down. The bottom half of the stream was steep and covered in 3 foot boulders. We took it slow and butt-slid a few times.

After a short picnic, we checked out the camping facilities, noting some nice sites for another trip. Conditions would need to be just right, no other campers, great weather, and the park to ourselves ( like that will ever happen.) I might try to gather the cubscout den for a day trip up there.
