I got two new saltwater rod and reels (
Shimano Stradic ST4000FH). We camped at Goose Island for Christmas and caught a lot of trout with four keepers. The reds were biting as well and we caught a couple of 17" reds from our island camp site.
The weather was great until the last night of our stay and thats when all heck broke loose. I/We learned that our pop-up could with stand gale force winds, it was a long and crazy night. The kayaks had to be anchored to the campsite and one of those stand alone canopies didnt make it. I think it was the first time ever I went to reel in the fishing lines at 3am hoping there wasnt anything on the other end. Yea Im still having a hard time saying that.
