Sorry it took so long to get back to you, I had posting issues. Yes, I did buy a license, and I can't find anywhere where it says you can fish without a license in the local community parks. I recommend catch and release in the urban parks anyways...that water drains out of Austin...I see wardens around once in a while, but not too often. I know back in my home state the local sheriff would enforce those laws too, but I'm not sure about here.
