Re: Trip in November...where?
River's low, but I'm not sure how bad as I haven't been out to Guadalupe River SP in a couple months. It was heading to its usual low summer levels last time we were out there for some hiking and mountain biking.
It's a beautiful park year-round and the bald cypress trees along the riverbank -- those that have survived the repeated floods over the past decades, anyway -- do turn in fall though not like a red oak or bigtooth maple (Lost Maples SNA).
I like the park in fall, winter and spring. About the only time I avoid Guadalupe River SP is summer, or if I do visit then I do so early and am heading out when the bulk of traffic/visitors arrive.
You'd see much more wildlife at South Llano River SP or Choke Canyon, or the others folks have mentioned. Guadalupe River SP is not generally a hotbed of wildlife, other than a variety of bird species and occasionally a lone deer or two.
