Re: How much propane and propane accessories do you use?

The first time I went camping My neighbor loaned me her insta-light coleman 2 burner stove. I loved it and got my own. It uses the bottles ( not the liquid ) and you don't need a match. WHen I got a handful of gift certificates for academy for Christmas, I got the insta-light lantern.

Seldom do I stay up very much past dark at the picnic table ( since kiddo's bedtime is about sundown while camping) So, I don't use the lantern a whole bunch. But I am glad I have it. We have a battery lantern for in the tent and a flashlight for late night walks to the bath house.

We usually bring 3 bottles of propane for a weekend. 2 are half used up, one for each appliance. The full one is the spare. I have offered my spare to the family next door while at Garner. They were cooking for 10 people and half way thru the preparation, they ran out. I gave them my spare and they gave me a half dozen fresh home made blueberry muffins. I wanted to see what I could get for the air mattress! Maybe a six pack? One problem I've encountered is that the top is stripped and won't fit correctly on the device. Someone might be able to make it work but I don't mess around with gas.

As for the heater, as long as you are in electric sites, just get and electric blanket. Winter camping will never be the same again! It's great.
