Re: Lost Maples In August

Terrific trip report! It makes Justin and I fondly remember our early camping trips, and how we need to get back to doing those when the time is right. We have had inconsiderate campers in our midst as well, but like you we usually end up finding more than enough to enjoy despite it. Sometimes, it's even funny... like the two-night stay we had, mid-week I might add, at Enchanted Rock SNA. The first night was heavenly. Peaceful, quiet. The next? Busloads of high school students arrived (remember, this is midweek) and they were not well supervised. Thus began the night we reference as, "I never, ever though I'd be subjected to hearing '99 bottles of beer on the wall' all the way from 99 down to 1!" It was a long, long night. That said, we also got to watch a lunar eclipse, which most of the kids weren't even aware was occurring, and that was a true highlight of the trip.

As everyone else has so nicely done, I too welcome you to Wild Texas! Kick up your feet and enjoy. These folks are awesome!
