I believe just about EVERY shot from that fly-in was captured with the Canon 10D and the Canon EF 300mm F4L-IS lens.

The 300mm F4L-IS lens rocks. The f4.0 aperture combined with the magnification effect of the 10D (since the CMOS sensor is smaller than 35mm, it means that all of the lenses you put on your 10D are actually 1.6x longer). This means when I'm shooting that 300mm lens with the 10D, it becomes a 480mm F4L!!!

At 480mm, with f4.0...the background doesn't have a chance....and the subjects really "pop".
