Wow, Shannon! I am impressed. You are remarkably well-informed about STS-121 and the goings-on at NASA these days. You gave a very nice summary. I am also interested in the latest shuttle news but I have a vested interest. I work on the shuttle's on-board Guidance, Navigation, and Flight Control software.

Here's hoping for a successful mission.
Thanks. What can I say, I've always been a geek, especially when it comes to the space program and computers (me @ Space Camp in 1987 -- the one in Alabama; the Titusville one in Florida didn't exist yet.) With the advent of the Internet, it's been a wonderful way to keep my interest in space exploration well-fueled even when a Shuttle mission is not in progress.

Hats off to you and all those whom you work with, as every single person even remotely involved in each Shuttle and ISS mission plays an important role and it's one I wish we (the public) would celebrate more. This is not a 747 flying from LA to New York, after all...

I hope to witness a Space Shuttle launch live sometime between now and 2010 but the odds of that are unlikely. So I settle for the next best thing and tune in live (listening to the NASA TV coverage right now in another window.) when a mission is in progress.
