The EV1 were leased by GM in California when a certain amount of cars had to be minimum emission. Two years later they recalled them and crushed every car.

In the face of reduced or no funding, the Smithsonian cannot afford to allienate their major donars, which are oil companies and American car manufacturers.

Take the issue to the big guys, the little players are just pawns.
