Latest news is I am trying to find a better (faster, more reliable) "Recent Discussions" feature for the main menu because the new one as most of you have probably noticed is S-L-O-W and weird about which threads it decides are *new*.
Unfortunately, the old code we were using no longer works with the new version of the discussion forum software, or we'd happily revert back to that one.

Same problem with the
Your Photos Gallery and newly uploaded images -- the new version of the photo gallery is a little temperamental and not showing new photos on the main page.
Should have a solution to both issues in the next day or so, and can resume my revamping efforts.
