Re: Inks Lake June 2006

Hey Campermom, Boy do I feel like a wimp. At Inks this last week on Wed and packed up and came home on Thursday. It was just too hot. My son is only 22 months, so he needed to nap mid-day and the tent had to be 120 degrees. At one point we had to put us all in the car and turn on the a/c. I think if the kids were a bit older and we could swim all through the heat of the day it would be great. No more camping for us until later in the year.

I agree about the restrooms. I thought they were kinda gross. We were at campsite 238, the last one on the water when we arrived and I think next time we'd choose not to be on the water. Again, kids too small to enjoy the water w/o us right on them and the sites didn't seem private AT ALL. We had an audience next door the whole time we were there. But some of the sites off the water seemed more spaced out and since you'd drive to the swim area anyways...

so much for Texas camping in the summer...
