Re: Looking for site advice at Inks

Hi Amy,

More then happy to try to help here. You will be at one of my favorite parks and the only thing bad about it is that I won't be there too  .

If your going to be there on the weekend, you just have to except that privacy will be at a minimum. Not only do I like this park but about three quarters of Texas agrees with me and sometimes it feels like that many are there . Just grin and bare it. I find fun just to sit and watch. It's amazing to see how many different ways some folk can set up a camp site (or not set up a camp site ).

As far as site selection goes, this time of year I'd try for 232 or 233. If not them, any of about 8-12 either side of them. Lake front and pretty good shade in all of them. Of course many already know this so you may find it difficult to get one of them. It is good to know where you heading though. 289 gets very good shade but it is a small site. May or may not work for you. 43 is a very good water front site not far from the Park Store. Gets good shade in the afternoon and evening. Though I really like 287, I don't think I'd use it this late into spring. Same goes for 87 & 88. Great sites but they really get the late afternoon and evening sun. 92 is another good one in that area. Except for 289 you'll have little contact with "Day Use". Even 289 is far enough back not to be bothered much.

Hope this helps and let me know if you have any other questions. Wishing you a great trip and,

Happy Camping!
