Went fishing this past Thursday after work. Had bait in the water @ 5:58pm. Had fish on at 6:07pm.
Here's how it went. I had one rod out and was wading out to cast the second rod when the drag was screaming out line and wouldn't stop. I turned and ran as best as I could thru the waist high water to grab my rod before being spooled. The fish was heading straight out across the lake. He took about 5 minutes to play in retreive. He was 32" and 12#. He is in my freezer.
Should have just left after that. When they came thru at 8, my bait was spend and the fellas next to me, with fresher bait, had a fish. That's OK, I didn't want to clean 2 fish, one was plenty.
