Keep the seat height up as high as you can -- it'll reduce some of the strain/pressure on the knee. Just don't overdue it or you'll transfer that strain to your back!

Best of luck! You'll be a new man soon enough! I took glucosamine/chondroitin for a couple months post-op, but discontinued its use at that point. In my specific case, I couldn't detect any changes, pro or con, between my time on and off the glucosamine. Especially under doctor's care, it can't hurt, though!
