This is a nice place to visit for the day, particularly if you like to bank fish, or boat fish. The lake is stocked with Red Drum ( typically a saltwater fish which thrives here) I have personally caught 10+ 20"-33 1/2" reds from the bank.

The lake is not a swimming lake. Don't take the kids thinking they will play in the water. The water was impounded to serve as a cooling lake for the coal fired power plant. Braunig lake is the same thing but smaller.

The restrooms get pretty yucky on weekends. Keep that in mind if you are staying overnight. I still enjoy going there. I just went there after work tonight with some friends and caught a catfish.
