I recommend Big Bend National Park, Big Bend Ranch State Park (just west of Big Bend near Lajitas) or Black Gap Wildlife Management Area (near Big Bend).
Big Bend National Park is very crowded during Spring Break, so do not go there during that time if you want isolation and remoteness. During the Spring and Fall, it is less crowded and during the summer months there are few people. There are many remote campsites along River Road East or River Road West, Old Ore Road and Black Gap Road that will fill the bill for remoteness. One caution -- traveling along River Road East/West and Old Ore Road are best accomplished with a high clearance 4WD. Black Gap Road is high clearance 4WD required.

Big Bend Ranch State Park and Black Gap Wildlife Management Area are pretty empty all of the time and are designed for those who really want to rough it.
