I should have clarified in my question that I didn't think it was a good idea to do the road walks for your reasons stated. I found out the hard way in the face of a territorial guard dog on the road in the Four Notch vicinity.
Did you guys stay in any of the primitive campsites along the trail? I believe there are three. I hope that the Lone Star Club develops more.
