I believe you can set a trailer at Hill country State Natural area. Great hiking and you can see an area that allows horseback riding. They do not rent to my knowledge.

Like Todd said Lost Maples, Excellent day hikes and nice swimming at 1 mile in. Cold water but nothing your not used too

Garner State park is really nice,,,

I do not know where you can rent horses other than the chain/line rides. I am sure they are there?

Even the Blanco State park Wimberly areas are nice...Of course if you want the best of all you have Big Bend
