Hehe... You're right, a kid was probably the first to *do* it. I always enjoy seeing photos taken by youngsters -- you know, the knee cap or below view of the world, and often taken at a skewed angle.
Not surprisingly, not every toss of the camera results in anything particularly interesting -- just blurry. The most intriguing shots I've found involve people who have perfected a technique of tossing their cameras with a good bit of spin. Obviously, not for the faint of heart or more treasured of cameras...
