Tent camping in the summer here in Texas can be brutal! I clearly remember a camping trip with Shannon at Brazos Bend State Park where the total lack of wind combined with sizzling temperatures at night in the 90's and a high humidity resulted in an "oven-like" experience.
At least when you're cold, you can keep adding layers. When you're burning up and ALL the layers are gone (and I mean all!)...and you're STILL dying of heat...you've run out of options.
It didn't help that in the distance we could hear the air-conditioners of the RV campers cycling on and off. :rolleyes:
Big lesson learned from that trip is that if you're going to brave that heat, bring a small, battery-powered fan of some sort. ANY kind if air movement would have helped a great deal I think...
